This applies particularly to the African continent where majority of the nations are either developing or undeveloped. The developing nations require a lot of financial support in form of lending and donations from the developed countries which are mainly Western states. The developed nations usually tend to impose conditions for the developing countries so as to extend their support to them. The countries extending support, especially lending loans and offering expertise in certain fields such as Engineering and Technology, derive a lot of benefits from this.The political relationship determines if or not between the two or more countries will trade with each other. Countries that enjoy a good political relationship engage in many business dealings with each country benefiting in its own way. However, the decision to trade with a certain countries for both developed and developing countries is in most instances not a sole decision by an individual. Politics play a major role. For political stability, the decision to trade with a particular state has to be supported by majority of the parliamentarians who represent the views and opinions of their electorate.I find this interrelationship between politics and trade quite detrimental for nations that do not trade with each other when it comes to other non-business issues. This is because the states are not able to separate their business rivalry from the issue at hand.
